Their storytelling has brought new energy to our mission — transforming a technical restoration approach into something people everywhere can connect with, learn from, and be inspired by.
Through this partnership, we are not only sharing a story; we are building a movement.
Together, we are supporting and training 32 Champion Farmers across 8 villages in Central Tanzania, equipping them with the skills, confidence, and practical tools they need to master the FMNR approach. These farmers are becoming local experts, restoration leaders, and powerful role models in their communities.
But the impact doesn’t stop with them.
Over the next three years, these Champion Farmers will pass on their knowledge to 4,800 households — families who depend on the land for food, income, and future security. By restoring the natural tree stumps already present in their fields, communities will regenerate 3,000 hectares of degraded land. This means more trees, healthier soils, increased crop yields, improved biodiversity, and greater resilience to climate shocks.
What was once bare, dry, and depleted land is slowly turning green again.
