Regreening Mima and Kibakwe Project

Regreening Mima and Kibakwe Project

Summary

The main purpose of this project is to improve people’s livelihoods and build climate change resilience. The project is implemented in the two divisions of Mpwapwa district, namely Mima and Kibakwe, as part of LEAD Foundation’s goal of Regreening Dodoma Region and Tanzania as a whole. The other two divisions of Mpwapwa district are covered by its sister project, the Regreening Dodoma Program. The project’s aim is to raise indigenous trees using Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) method in 20 targeted villages and reach more than 4,000 households. We are working very closely with local leaders from each village. These leaders participate in reaching more people, rising more awareness, enforcing laws and protecting the communal land where most trees will be grown.
