Summary
In the INCLUDE/HUSISHA program, we provide technical support to Member Based Organizations (MBOs) in two districts of Manyara region and two districts of Arusha region. We focus on providing knowledge on environmental conservation practices, in particular Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration & Rainwater Harvesting techniques, in order to support farmers in regreening their land. As the name INCLUDE already suggests, this program’s particular aim is to promote the inclusion of women, youth, and underprivileged groups, as they are most affected by climate change challenges and play a major role in climate mitigation. But because INCLUDE is a program realized together with several partners, we aren’t responsible for the whole program but only some parts. In particular, this involves the yearly training of the Champion farmers over three years, coaching and mentoring them during their progress and collecting and monitoring the progress data.
