The Green Revolution: Restoring 18 million Trees in 6 Years

In Central Tanzania, an inspiring collaboration has led to the remarkable regeneration of 18 million trees in only six years. This achievement highlights the importance of collective action and nature-based solutions in combating climate change.
In February 2024, we celebrated six years of partnership with Justdiggit, marking a significant milestone in our tree rejuvenation journey. This anniversary highlights our dedication to environmental conservation and sustainability, serving as a reminder of the positive impact we’ve made and motivating us to keep working towards a greener future.

Together, with the local communities we’ve regenerated an impressive 18 million trees using the Kisiki Hai Technique or popularly known as Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR), showing the power of our combined efforts. For the local farmers, these trees have benefits on many different levels. Not only do they provide fruits, nuts and timber, they also help to retain water underground. The fertility of the soil improves, which increases crop yields and enriches the livelihood of local people.

While celebrating this significant milestone, it’s essential to recognize that there’s still much work to be done for a sustainable future. However, with each tree revitalized, progress towards a greener and more resilient planet is made.
